Greetings from the East,
It is comforting to get back to unpredictable weather. That mix of clouds or sun, rain or dry, cool or mild that we are used to in Western Oregon. I won’t miss the excessive heat but already miss the longer day length. I know it is early fall and we have less than twelve hours of daylight. As always let’s all try to make the best of it.
Our annual appreciation dinner was delightful. The scenery at the Riverview restaurant in Troutdale was impressive and the dinner yummy. The main honoree was Past Master Bob Richardson who we thank for his labor and loyalty to the craft. The rest of the honorees including our widows, Past Masters, Lodge Officers and special guests should know that we appreciate them all year long and thank them for attending.
The raffle drawing was held at the Homecoming meal after the September Stated meeting. The lucky winner was Don Baxter. Congratulations Don.
The October stated meeting on Saturday the14th will be held to a strict time limit. A full schedule is in store for that Saturday. Following our stated meeting we will have the semi-annual meeting of the Temple Association followed by our brunch. Then at 1:00 p.m. a service will be held for the passing of Lorna Munson.
On Monday the 30th we will hold a proficiency and Fellow Craft degree for Sean Carver to be held at Kenton Lodge. Please let Junior Warden W.B. Ken Hall know how you can participate and support Sean and our Lodge.
Some of our Brothers are traveling this time of year and others are being tied up at work. Please make every effort to attend our stated meeting and maintain a vibrancy within our order. Please keep lodge recruitment in the forefront of your mind and check out the website often.
See you Saturday October 14th.
