Welcome back after our long dry summer. It has been a year of weather extremes and now we
long for some moisture to water our plants and douse the fires that burn in our forests. The day light
is getting shorter and soon we will miss the extra time to sit outside on those pleasant summer evenings.
This summer we enjoyed the three Lodge picnic at Oaks Park with lots of picnic food, prizes, games and
even a past Grand Master calling BINGO. The event was well attended and no one went away hungry. I want
to acknowledge all the volunteers who worked through the day to bring joy to the attendees.
Don’t forget about our September meeting when we will welcome all Lodges to the Homecoming bar-b-que
and will hold the drawing for the raffle prize. Remember the dress for the day will be western themed, so boots,
jeans and hats will be appropriate.
Sunday September 17th is our appreciation day dinner at the Riverview restaurant in Troutdale. The dinner will
honor our widows, past masters and Lodge officers. Dinner will begin at 2 pm and we will be steps away from a
view of the Sandy River. Business causal will be the dress code for the day.
Following our stated meeting in October we will have the semi-annual meeting of Temple Association.
Please keep lodge recruitment in the forefront of your mind and check out the website often.
See you Saturday September 9th.
